The end of the Nissan Juke-R has come and gone. The vehicle is done. Only a lucky few were there when the 485-horsepower twin-turbo V6 borrowed from a Nissan GT-R cleared its throat for the first time. The thrills and high-fives, that wave of adrenaline that buoys dog-tired men, and the long minutes of standing around and grinning at your project as it burbles away is a private moment that only the builders can fully appreciate.

This must be the Ultimate Crossover. Who Needs BMW, Mercedes or Porsche, when you have a crazy SUV like this! I love the look of it! Its like the “brother from another mother!”

Over the weekend, the annual Race of Champions event took place in Germany. The venue was Dusseldorf ESPRIT Arena, which was transformed from a pitch into a one-kilometre course complete with crossover. I like this kind of events! We should have more like this in back here in Norway too! :)

The idea of Race of Champions is to pit various drivers from different disciplines against one another, with everyone in identical machinery. The drivers duke it out in a variety of cars, such as the Audi R8 LMS, Skoda Fabia Super 2000, KTM X-Bow, World Touring Race Car and the 475kg ROC Car.

The main event took place on Sunday, where the drivers competed for the Champion of Champions title.

This isn’t a reality show full of spoiled housewives, bronzed idiots or overgrown cupcakes. It’s a world of intense competition, challenges, irreverent personalities & humor. It might have been founded by Ford, but it’s ruled by four action sports superstars: Ken Block, Brian Deegan, Tanner Foust and Vaughn Gittin Jr. They’ve got street cred you can only dream of, but they’re giving you a shot to experience it.

If you’re lucky enough to get picked, you’ll spend four days taking on other fearless competitors through a ton of different challenges born out of the crazy minds of these guys. It won’t be a walk in the park—your athleticism, attitude and audacity will be tested. If you rise above the rest, you’ll be crowned a champion and drive home in one of four brand-new rides from Ford.
